AI Hive Scan

AI Tools Viewed: 90

AI Hive Scan checks a photo of a brood or honey frame for pests and signs of disease. It looks for varroa mites, small hive beetles and common brood diseases, rates how serious each finding is, and suggests next steps.

To scan a frame

  1. Open the beehive you are inspecting, from View Beehives or from its apiary.
  2. Tap Hive Scan.
  3. Take a photo of the frame, or choose one from your gallery.
  4. Wait a few seconds while the photo is analyzed.
  5. Review the results. Each finding shows a severity rating and suggested next steps.
  6. Save the scan to the beehive’s record.

Getting a good result

  • Shake or brush bees off the frame where you can, so the comb is visible.
  • Shoot in daylight, without flash, with the frame filling most of the picture.
  • Hold the camera steady and close enough that individual cells are sharp.
  • Scan both sides of a frame if you have concerns about either.

Limits

Hobbyist accounts include 30 Hive Scans and Voice Inspections. Pro and Pro Team plans have unlimited scans. On all plans, you can scan each beehive once per day.

Important: Hive Scan helps you spot problems early. It does not replace a laboratory test. If a scan flags American or European foulbrood, follow your local apiary inspector’s guidance, as these diseases are notifiable in many countries.
